I didn’t have Super Bowl LIV Kansas City Chiefs Champions t-shirt so apparently I had no reason to go home after a 10 hour work day at the office. We can all support one another along different paths in search of balance and success in the face of discrimination and excess.
It makes me sad to hear a bit of us against them here. She left the corporate world simply because those boundaries weren’t being respected before or after having children. Children aren’t an excuse to have our limits accepted. Children DO tend to bring women who have them to the point of choosing their life rather than having it chosen for them.

Good for you for choosing the life you want. No one should lose their Super Bowl LIV Kansas City Chiefs Champions t-shirt and have their talents wasted in the excesses of the corporate environment. But please don’t begrudge another person her choice.Everything she said is so true and she articulated it so beautifully. I feel like I became a better employee after I had my kids. More efficient, creative, resourceful and patient; and I see so many of these same qualities in my co-workers that are mothers as well. I wish more employers would see what an asset working mothers were to their organizations.
I’m not sure how me sharing my experience and how I specifically became a better employee after I had children is judging other people. Becoming a parent helped me evolve and develop new skills that I didn’t have before. Could I developed them eventually without having kids too, sure. Do people who don’t have kids have the same qualities, of course.
Or if I didn’t have kids I could have developed a whole Super Bowl LIV Kansas City Chiefs Champions t-shirt set of skills. Becoming a parent didn’t FORCE me to be good or better, it brought new perspective. In the workplace being a mother is so often seen as a negative- I was simply sharing the other side of how it can be a positive. This really isn’t a kids versus no kids discussion, so I’m not sure the reasoning for your comment. It’s not a contest.

The reasoning is that many Super Bowl LIV Kansas City Chiefs Champions t-shirt outright say that the employers should cut them some slack because ultimately they are much better workers than childfree people. And that is pretty offensive to people who don’t have kids. Also, childfree women face bullying and harassment from mothers at workplaces regularly, giving up good shifts or holiday spots, do mom’s overtime etc., and comments like yours perpetuate the idea that doing so is okay.
My comment didn’t say that employers should cut them slack because they are better workers than child free employees, did it. It said absolutely nothing about people without children. MY comment said that there were positive attributes I personally developed after becoming a mom. Because in MY experience being a mom was viewed negatively on many occasions in my career- which is something I know many mothers with careers also deal with.
So why is there anything wrong with pointing out potential positives. Me sharing my experience takes nothing away from your experience. I was a Super Bowl LIV Kansas City Chiefs Champions t-shirt free employee in the workplace for more than a decade before I had children and have been on both sides and understand both sides. If you’re really in a situation where you’re being bullied or harassed in the workplace for ANY reason, you should seek out a new job or talk to HR because that is not acceptable.
