When I saw the trailers to this film, I was anticipating it to be one I cherished. It was one of my most anticipated films of the summer, it just looked gorgeous. Overall, I left this movie feeling really cold and I’m trying to put the exact reason on why I really didn’t like this film. On one hand, this movie is beautifully rendered. The way they are able to capture San Francisco, its mysticism and beauty translate so well on a big screen. The score is also wonderful and swelling and completely sells itself as a pivotal part of making certain scenes more engrossing then others. However, the plot here feels really contrived. I felt as though the whole film feels written. I always saw Santa I know him Elf William Buddy Hobbs christmas shirt reading dialogue.

They did an incredible job at bringing the material to life but the material itself isn’t remarkable. By the first 5 minutes of the film, you already know what the film is about because there’s literally a preacher preaching you the idea of this film in a very heavy handed way. Then, there’s the fact that you don’t really get to know these characters that well because there’s so much focus on the house. I get the obvious symbolism in the house but the film continues to hone on it so much. To also be fair, I didn’t like these characters. I felt as though choices they made were very entitled and not very smart. Not to mention, there’s so many characters and Santa I know him Elf William Buddy Hobbs christmas shirt here that are just dropped for absolutely no reason and build nothing to the overall story.

There’s a lot of padding here to make it Santa I know him Elf William Buddy Hobbs christmas shirt and it feels its length. There’s an easy 30 minutes to cut from this. I’d have to get into spoilers to dive into very specific problems I have here. There are several. This one character holds a play at the end of the film. The way he addresses grief I thought was truly appalling and uncalled for. I believe if this character was to do this in real life. It would not go over nearly as well as it does here. There’s also a character death in this film and the way the film treats this is just an afterthought. Even the way they tell us the character died is maybe a textbook example of poor visual storytelling.
